BELUGA, a 40ft catamaran named after the white whale, was built by Captain Tim.   After launching her in 1982 he was asked to build the record breaking 80 foot ocean racing catamaran ENZA NEW ZEALAND.  At the start of the TRANSAT TAG in 1984 he met Gerard Pesty aboard the 55 ft trimaran ARCHITUETHIS who  invited Captain Tim to follow him down to The Turks & Caicos Islands. They reached Providenciales  in 1985 and both BELUGA and Captain Tim have been based here ever since.

There have been many adventures, often with Jojo, the dolphin, who met BELUGA in Leeward Going Through in March of 1985 and has been visiting ever since.

Captain Tim started the annual Fools Regatta in 1990 and to this day BELUGA is still a regular sight on the podium. [2nd behind MINX is still a podium finish!]

After building a houseboat for friends and working at the Conch Farm, Captain Tim started his charter business in 1987 and has been taking guests sailing on BELUGA ever since. Captain Nik arrived to help in 2010 and has quickly learnt from Captain Tim’s 25+ years of experience in the waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Now rated as one of the top tourist attractions on tripadvisor, BELUGA has been described as the “Salt of the Islands”. We are looking forward to taking you out onto and into our beautiful turquoise waters and sharing some more of BELUGA’s history with you.
